Gaya Bahasa Metonimia dalam Lirik Lagu Iwan Fals Bertema Kritik Sosial

Abstract

The language of song lyrics can be categorized as a distinctive literary language because it represents the inner experience of the creator, so it is expressive. This expressive language of song lyrics organizes, condenses, and sometimes deviates from the existing language rules. Thus, it will be easier for listeners to pay attention and be aware of the songwriter's efforts to create a certain atmosphere with his style of language. The purpose of this study is to analyze the types of metonymy in the lyrics of the song Iwan Fals with the theme of social criticism; knowing the meanings of metonymy in the lyrics of the Iwan Fals song with the theme of social criticism, and knowing the form and meaning of metonymy in the lyrics of the Iwan Fals song with the theme of social criticism. The method in this study is a qualitative method with content analysis techniques. The research instrument is the researcher himself assisted by the content analysis table. The data of this research is the lyrics of Iwan Fals' songs from the first to the last album with a sample of 20 songs. The results showed that from 20 Iwan Fals songs with the theme of social criticism, 23 song lyrics using metonymy style were found. Based on the analysis of all data, it can be seen that the metonymy style of Iwan Fals song lyrics in this study is metonymy pars prototo 40% (9 data), relational metonymy 35% (8 data), time relation metonymy
