Anorexia: "uma neurose paralela à melancoli"

Abstract

The objective here is to investigate Freud's statement that "the nutritional neurosis which parallels melancholia is anorexia." We studied Freud's writings to construct an equivalence between these two affections. Narcissism and the mechanism of identification are the basis for this discussion on the concepts of sexual anesthesia, low self-esteem and sadism. © 2009 Associação Universitária de Pesquisa em Psicopatologia/University Association for Research in Fundamental Psychopathology.
