Abstract
The work was carried out in the educational institutions del municipio de Sincelejo - Sucre, where the characterization of the projects environmental school (PRAES) and environmental culture of the students, with the purpose of offering alternatives of improvement was made. The research is descriptive and exploratory. It is of type Cualitativo-cuantitativo. 2 questionnaires were applied to teachers, educational managers, leaders of the PRAES, students and parents. The findings indicate the existence of various factors that limit the development of HIRC as the lack of financial resources, time, and human talent. In addition, insufficient participation of the educational community in the diagnostic, development and evaluation of the PRAES. It was proposed to strengthen the PRAES, as an institutional commitment.
