Abstract

The authors explain the criteria for suspicion of liver abscess, the key epidemiologic and prognostic attributes of the condition and how they have changed in modern times, the difference in therapeutic approach between pyogenic and amoebic abscesses, and other aspects of the diagnosis and treatment of liver abscess.
