Abstract

Pseudopaludicola saltica (Anura, Leptodactylidae) presents a wide distribution, from the Midwest to the South of Brazil. Calling males are commonly found in areas near small water courses. Lycosidae is a family of spiders widely distributed throughout the world, has general feeding habits, and both nocturnal and diurnal activities. Spiders are considered opportunistic predators and consume anurans, especially in the reproductive season of these animals. The present note reports the first record on predation of the anuran P. saltica by a spider (Lycosidae) in the Brazilian Cerrado, municipality of Rio Verde, state of Goiás, Brazil.
