Abstract

‘Invite’ is a concept in K. Eriksson's theory of caritative caring and it is surprising that the qualitative dimensions of the content of the concept ‘invite’ are quite unknown. The aim of this study is to unveil the content of the concept through a hermeneutic concept determination by K. Eriksson for the humanistic caring science. The study consists of an etymological and semantic analysis of the material that contains Swedish dictionaries. The results of the analysis are five dimensions of meaning for the concept of ‘invite‘: an open, a playing, a supporting, an enthusiastic and an altruistic invitation.
