Abstract

Most-HCD proteins are dimers, whereas most-and-HCD proteins appear to consist primarily of multiple polymers of different sizes. The molecular weight of the monomeric unit varies between 27 000 and 49 000 for-HCD proteins, 29 000 and 35 000 for-HCD proteins, and 35 000 and 55 000 for-HCD proteins. Allowance is usually made in these figures for carbohydrates, since the carbohydrate content of many of these HCD proteins is high.
