Abstract
This research is part of the author’s Final Degree Project, which has analyzed the typologies of visible storage in Spain. An extensive bibliographic review has has made it possible to obtain a list of museums that have visible storage to which a survey has been carried out: 21 state institutions have participated in the study. Next, the museums have been classified according to the characteristics of their storehouses: completely or partially visible. In turn, two subcategories have been created: those that allow access to all audiences or professionals/students. Finally, the data have been treated quantitatively and it has been possible to ratify that both the institutions and the public have an interest in visible storage, but that the projects present difficulties to be carried out and certain disadvantages that stay unresolved.
