Abstract

A simple, green, and efficient method for the synthesis of 2,4,5-triaryl-1 H-imidazoles using N-bromosuccinimide (NBS) as a catalyst under solvent-free condition is described. The major advantages of the present method are: high yields, less reaction times, solvent-free conditions, easy purification of the products, environmental friendliness, and convenient operation. © 2014, Sociedad Química de México.
