Abstract

The authors highlight the importance of the Syrian National Kidney Foundation (SNKF) as a response for the need of kidney patients affected by the ongoing Syrian revolution as of July 2014. They provide an overview of renal disease and renal care in the country. They also describe the complexity and the requirements of the hemodialysis procedure and enumerate the core functions of the SNKF.
