Abstract

The stability of an annular layer of fluid confined in a circular Hele-Shaw cell and subjected to centrifugal forcing was examined. It was found that flows in a cell prewet with an oil coating are highly stable. Linear stability analysis showed that the stability of the two interfaces is coupled through the pressure field.
