Abstract

Femtosecond lasers are today delivering output powers of several hundred watts. The challenge is to translate the available power into high throughput micromachining by combining the laser with fast scanning systems or multiple beam generation. Free triggering of the laser output pulses with good precision (also known as “pulse on demand”) is particularly useful for exploiting advanced functionalities of processing tools.
