Abstract

Introduction: Knowledge of nutrition is a factor that affects the nutritional status of adolescents. One of the efforts to increase adolescent knowledge regarding balanced nutrition is to provide education using appropriate methods and media. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of nutrition education using animated videos and posters on improving nutrition in adolescent balance. Method: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of nutrition education using animated videos and posters on improving nutrition in adolescent balance. This type of research is a quasi-experimental using a pre-post test design with a sample size of 40 high school students/equivalent in Purwakarta City selected using purposive sampling technique. Data collection is done online using a questionnaire. The statistical test used is the Paired Sample T-test. Result: The provision of nutrition education using animated videos and posters increased knowledge (p=0.000) about nutritional balance after the intervention was given. The average value of knowledge before providing education with animated video media was 54. 80, increasing to 86.80. While the average value of knowledge before giving with poster media was 45.20 and increased to 91.80. Conclusion: There is an effect of nutrition education using animated videos and posters on increasing adolescent knowledge about balanced nutrition.
