Abstract
Over the past few years the sector of refining has been put to the test. The consumption of petroleum products has increased slightly in Europe, and the specification is becoming more strict. In particular, because of the continual progress in the use of units, the processing overcapacity remains. The sum of all these factors gives the result that refining margins throughout the world remain low and insufficient for financing new investments correctly.
