Abstract

Effects and mechanisms of a single bout of physical load and of the regular exercise (training) on the carbohydrate and fat metabolism are reviewed. During excercise and in the following couple of hours sugar utilization improves, "acitivity funcitons like insulin". Proper excercise contributes to using up the fat reserves, and slimmer body, fat reduction can be maintained by the combination of excercise and diet-control. Instructions in "exercise for everybody" and particularly for both type diabetics are detailed. In prevention of cardio-metabolic pathologies the most important measure were avoiding the overweight state by rational alimentation and regular physical activity.
