Abstract

Replies to the comments made by Goldney and colleagues (see record 2004-21266-005) on the original article, "The WHO World Mental Health Consortium, World Health Organization: Prevalence, severity and unmet need for the treatment of mental disorders in the World Health Organization World Mental Health Surveys (2004). Composite International Diagnostic Interview, Version." The present authors feel the comments to be incorrect in their characterization of the WMH-CIDI clinical significance exclusion rules. The exclusions they are concerned about apply only to the original CIDI. The more recent WMH-CIDI, which was used in the WMH surveys, includes much more extensive questioning about distress and impairment. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2007 APA, all rights reserved)
