Abstract

O-Methylheptaphylline (1), together with capnolactone (2), were isolated from Clausena suffruticosa. The structure of 1 was established unambiguously by a series of 1D and 2D-NMR analyses. The cytotoxic activity of 1 and 2 was determined against brine shrimp nauplii and the LC50 values recorded were 0.56 μg/mL and 7.94 μg/mL, respectively.
