Abstract

India's main goals are to reduce population size and improve people's quality of life. General government goals include lowering the birth rate, mortality rate, and abortion laws. The emphasis is on reaching the masses through various media to spread education. Decentralize democratic plans through state legislatures, municipalities, and panchayats to eliminate family welfare programmes vertically. A State Population and Social Development Commission should be established to plan, implement, and oversee the country's population policy. According to experts, lowering infant mortality could reduce birth rates by 20%. The failure of states such as Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, and others to control their populations has resulted in an increase in the birth rate.
