EVALUASI KESESUAIAN LAHAN TANAMAN PADI (Oriza sativa L.) DI KECAMATAN HERLANG, KABUPATEN BULUKUMBA

Abstract

This study aims to determine the actual and potensial land suitability of rice plants (Oriza sativa L.). and their limiting factors in herlang district, Bulukumba. The land survey was carried out with refers to the lanf unit,, consisting of prepared the basic data, field exploration, soi;l descriptionsoil sampling, laboratory analysis and land suitability assessment of rice plant. The method used in this research is descriptive data analysis survey and determination of land suitability class based on FAO method with limiting factors/land characteristics approach. The result showed that the suitanility of the actual land for the development of rice plants in Herlang, Bulukumba has 2 land unitsn namely U1 with a marginal suitability calss S3 with limiting factors, namely soil CEC 9f) and available nutrients (n) while U2 with suitability calss land according to marginal S3 has a limiting factors, namely available nutrienst (n) K20. Potensial land suitability for the development of rice plants ini Herlang District, Bulukumba from all land units after improvements have been made with the addition of organic matter, P and K fertilization so that all land units become land suitability class S1. All of the land units have the potential to be planted with rice plants ini Herlang District, Bulukumba.
