Abstract
Hepatic adenoma is a benign proliferation of hepalocytes, usually seen in women with a history of prolonged oral contraceptive intake. It is rare in men. Helicoidal computerized tomography and magnetic resonance imaging are the most effective diagnostic tests presently available. Treatment, consists in hepatic resection in both symptomatic and asymplomatic cases, due to the risk of tumor growth, rupture or malignant transformation.
