Abstract

Obwohl die Konkurrenz um Künstliche Intelligenz kein klassischer Rüstungswettlauf ist, hält sich das Narrativ eines AI Arms Race in der internationalen Debatte und ein KI-Wettbewerb ist klar erkennbar. Der Essay beleuchtet die Entstehung des Narrativs und rekonstruiert den KI-Wettlauf sowie die strategischen Ausrichtungen der USA, Chinas und der EU. Although the competition for Artificial Intelligence is not a classic arms race, the narrative of an “AI Arms Race” persists in the international debate and an AI competition is clearly discernible. The essay examines the emergence of the narrative and reconstructs the AI race as well as the strategic orientations of the USA, China and the EU.
