Abstract

Netiquette is the set of rules that regulate communications in digital environ-ments. This research investigates this assumption through a double quantitative and qualitative study in which 402 Internet users have participated. The objective is to know how the rules of cyber etiquette are applied in online interactions. The results warn of a need for training regarding certain aspects of this phenomenon, since, as the interviewees acknowledge, knowledge of this protocol would have avoided controversial situations on the Internet.
