Abstract

Metabolism and tissue distribution of heavy metals and some light metals is discribed in mammals including human. Absorption and excretion are discussed in terms of the nature of the element the chemical from, the amount of dose and the physiological conditions of the animal. Intermediate metabolism is referred to selected metals. The concentrations of 41 elements in normal human tissues (or organs) are summerized along with the discussion on the analytical problems in trace analysis of biological samples. © 1981, The Society of Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Japan.
