Abstract

We use the Born approximation in conjunction with body-wave ray theory to derive a readily computable Fréchet sensitivity kernel, relating a finite-frequency, seismic traveltime residual δT to a perturbation δd in the location of a discontinuity within the Earth. © 2005 RAS.
