Semántica, sintaxis y fonética: Recursos prosódicos de las construcciones con "un...que"

Abstract

This paper presents an acoustic-perceptual analysis of prosody in constructions with un... que in Spanish of Buenos Aires. In some of these constructions a part of the message is emphasized, whereas in some other cases it does not appear any emphasis. Studies devoted to this construction describe these semantic differences but do not give any measure of prosody. Within our theoretical framework, we aim to find out if differences in communicative intention have a correlate with prosodic parameters. We have measured F0 contours, energy and pause in contrastive pairs of constructions within a corpus of 100 utterances produced by four speakers.
