Studying autophagy's relationship to cell death

Abstract

Depending on the circumstances, autophagy can prevent, cause or regulate the kinetics of cell death. Consequendy, it is particularly important that experimental strategies to study these responses are designed carefully. Here, I discuss some of the issues to be considered when designing such experiments. ©2008 Landes Bioscience.
