Abstract
Besides immunomodulation and immunosuppression symptomatic treatment of multiple sclerosis (MS) is another important part of an overall therapeutic concept. Its goals are the elimination or - at least - the reduction of symptoms which impair the functional abilities and quality of life of the patients, as well as the avoidance of secondary damage. Treatment recommendations for the particular symptoms of MS are immense. Therefore clear and consensually developed therapeutic-strategies are strictly needed. This paper will review some of the recommendations which just now had been generated by the Multiple Sclerosis Treatment Consensus Group (MSTCG) of the German MS Society.
