Abstract
The study of the catalytic activity of Cu under the influence of several common factors [Mystkowski & Lasocka, 1939] was extended in unpublished work carried out in Warsaw in 1939 to the inhibition of aldehyde dehydrogenase and amylase actions by Cu, and the detoxicating effect of NaCl. In the present paper we give the results obtained in the oxidation of ascorbic acid under the influence of NaCl and proteins. During the course of these experiments we had to examine several other catalytic activities of Cu and these results are given here in brief.
