Abstract
The following essay examines the history of the curved screen for motion picture presentation from Raoul Grimoin-Sanson's Cineorama, which debuted at the Paris Exposition of 1900, to curved screens in contemporary multiplexes. The goal of the essay is not to provide a definitive history of the curved screen but to explore its virtues and limitations. Copyright © John Libbey Publishing.
