Abstract
The goal of this study is to analize suitability location for seaweed culture at Kamelanta and Pulau Panjang, Buton Regency of Southeast Sulawesi based on water quality parameters and to determine the method of planting that can be applied in the location by using Geographic Information System (GIS). Water quality parameters used are DO, Temperature, pH, Salinity, Brightness, Depth, Water Flow, and the contents of Nitrate, Phosphate, and Chlorophile-a. The result of this study indicate that the water quality of Kamelanta and Pulau Panjang is at “appropriate” and “very suitable” levels ranging from 80% to 89%. The suggested planting method is long-line system path method.
