While before CSR was regarded as an indicator of companies’ goodwill towards the society, today, any cases of non-compliance with existing CSR standards are viewed as a source of risk to corporate reputation and may lead to substantial organisational losses. Nevertheless, international corporations from different national contexts and different violations of aspects of CSR (e.g. Volkswagen, Zara, etc. ) become regularly and repeatedly involved in CSR scandals and ‘greenwashing’
