Abstract

The secondary publication after the journal editor mutual agreement in the same or another language is to refer to the published papers of the same content or re-published to more than one journal. Secondary publication, for example, for the English journal and non-English journal, is beneficial because it is a different language. It is possible to agree to the creation of secondary publication in translated form. It is also considered to be acceptable if all the following conditions are met. In this regard, the medical journal position of editor of the International Committee of ICMJE (International Committee of Medical Journal Editors) published their guideline for it. Such a move is out in already many Japanese journals, for example, Japanese Association for Thoracic Surgery at its home page, above the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors have allowed the paper posted along the guidelines. Also there is a similar movement in companies engaged in the translation and publishing. For this reason this trend will accelerate in future. We have to consider a flexible editorial policy so that it can respond to a new era in our journal.
