Abstract

The purpose of this theoretical paper is to outline the phenomenon of resilience as a systemic and multidimensional phenomenon that protects children and families against risk. In addition, the current review attempts to present how parenthood contribute in shaping both child and family resilience, while summarizing the possible connecting role of parenthood between the resilience of the two systems (individual and family). Finally, suggestions are made for further exploration on issues that will enhance our understanding of how parenthood connects the resilience of the two systems.
