O espaço iluminado no tempo volteador (Grande sertão: Veredas)

Abstract

As a geographer, the autor proposees to focus the geographic aspects involved in the masterpiece Grande sertão: veredas by João Guimarães Rosa, allaying the spatial veracity (geography) of the described landscapes and the toponymy, thus ascertaining the excellence of the first aspect, while the second is, sometimes, enlightened by a metaphysical simbology. Moreover, in addition to that, the temporal veracity (History) in the narrative of the central character - Riobaldo, - instead of obeying a linear and chronological, flyies about in circles at the mercy of the narrator's memory flow.
