Abstract

Access systems are changing rapidly. Increasing availability of online (rotating disk) storage, improved network bandwidth, and software allowing distributed data systems and object-based data set retrieval add flexibility to data access and management systems. Users now access larger volumes of data more rapidly and transparently and with more powerful search and access choices than at any point in the short history of satellite remote sensing.
