Chaos

Abstract

Engineering has responded to the expansion of knowledge and understanding by subdividing itself into discipline-based compartments. The bodies of knowledge upon which it depends lie across the discipline sub-divisions. The resulting matrix inhibits intercourse between compartments. Chaos offers an opportunity to bring down the barriers and to create new and powerful engineering tools.
