Abstract
A multicriteria scoring method is proposed for assessing and monitoring beech dieback. It is based on observation of symptoms encountered during the stages of dieback : transparency, death of branches, loss of fine branching system, etc. A scoring system using 9 elementary criteria provide a "snapshot" of the crown at a given point in time. A model that combines these elementary criteria is used to assign overall dieback ratings.
