Abstract
Starting from the assumption that chronic health impairments represent a potential barrier to the experience of inclusion at work, the study searched for an organizational framework conducive to the perceived inclusion of employees with chronic health impairments. Using partial least squares structural equation modeling, our analysis of survey data (N = 801) indicated that, above all, an appreciative and safe team climate played an important role in predicting work-related perceived inclusion. Furthermore, workplaces that fit the needs of the disabled and enable the participation and the advancement of one's own potential as well as the presence of positive role models were also found to be independent predictors. These findings add to the body of knowledge on establishing inclusive practices, structures, values, and norms in organizations.
