Abstract

Method is presented for designing gravel flow packed completion based on formation sand analysis, gravel to sand ratio, formation sand uniformity, and flow velocity through slotted liner; particular emphasis is placed on completion design for high rate secondary recovery wells; procedure is given for designing gravel flow pack completion for any given set of reservoir and producing equations; examples of this technique applied to actual field cases are presented.
