The effect of ethical leadership on perception of organizational justice: The mediating role of perception of psychological contract

Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine the mediating role of psychological contract perception in the effect of ethical leadership on perception of organizational justice. The sample of the research consists of 583 teachers working in private schools in İstanbul. The data collected in the 2018-2019 academic year using the questionnaire form was analyzed using SPSS and YEM (AMOS) package programs. In order to test the validity and reliability of the scales, exploratory factor analysis (CFA), confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and reliability analyzes were performed. The determined hypotheses were tested with correlation and structural equation model (bootstrap). According to the findings of the study, it is seen that ethical leadership perception positively predicts interactional justice perception, procedural justice perception, distributive justice perception and psychological contract perception. Similarly, it was found that the perception of psychological contract positively predicted the perception of interactional justice, procedural justice, and distributive justice. In addition, it has been observed that psychological contract perception has a mediating role in the effect of ethical leadership on organizational justice perception.
