Abstract
Asthma is one of the leading causes of respiratory failure. It is important to predict which patients might suffer from respiratory failure. The aim of this study is to investigate the possibility of using pulse oximetry as alternative to arterial blood gas analysis for measuring oxygen saturation (SaO2) to predict hypoxic respiratory failure.
