Abstract
This paper collects the data of 29 main circular economy indicators in the past nine years, and constructs a comprehensive evaluation model composed of three-level indicators. The data are analysed using the principal component analysis method of SPSS software to analyse the rationality of the construction of the circular economy indicator system. The entropy value method is used to calculate the comprehensive score data of the circular economy indicators, to study in depth China’s investment in the stage of forming the circular economy model in 2014-2022, to determine the weight ratio of the indicators at each level, and then to derive the scores of the circular economy indicators at each level. The article provides a detailed analysis of these scoring results and discusses the key factors and events affecting these scoring results, providing an important reference for understanding the development trend and optimisation strategy of China’s circular economy investment. The fluctuation of China’s circular economy indicator scoring datasheet from 2014 to 2022 reflects a complex combination of economic, social and environmental factors. In the future, the Chinese government, enterprises and society need to cooperate to form a model for the development of the circular economy, and the government should strengthen policy tools and incentives to promote the sustainable development of the circular economy.
