Abstract

In this region, marine terraces are developed fairly well on the north coast from East Cape to Cape Runaway and on the southeast coast of the Bay of Plenty as far west as Ohiwa Harbour. By tephrochronological and geomorphological means, the marine terraces in this region are classified, in descending order, into Matakaoa, Otamoroa, Te Papa and Te Araroa Terraces. -from English summary
