Abstract

Despite diversity in political matters, East European states share certain economic problems: transformation from central planning to a market economy; non-convertible currencies; poor infrastructure; lack of capital market development; training and educational deficiencies; and a need for large injections of foreign capital and expertise. The problems of individual countries are outlined. -M.Amos
