Unusual origin of dorsal nerve of penis and abnormal formation of pudendal nerve-Clinical significance

Abstract

The nerve roots of the sacral plexus are fascinating and critical in the functions of defecation, micturition, parturition, and even participate in the mechanism of male sexual functions of erection and ejaculation. During our routine cadaveric dissection of the right gluteal region of a 45-year-old male cadaver, we came across an unusual origin of the dorsal nerve of the penis (DNP) and abnormal formation of the pudendal nerve.
