Abstract

Fire-induced subalpine grasslands produced much more ungulate herbage than other range types. Graminoid production, but not forb production, was greater in wet growing seasons. Fertilization of alpine ranges with 17-35 kg N/ha did not increase herbage production.-from AuthorsFaculty of Forestry, Univ of British Columbia, Vancouver, B.C., Canada V6T 1W5.
