Abstract
For centuries, homelessness has been a major issue in India. According to the 2021 census, about 1.77 million Indians are homeless. To fulfil these needs, compressed earth blocks can play a vital role. These blocks are eco-friendly and sustainable products that can be used for the development of our society. The use of industrial and agricultural wastes as binders and fibres for the construction of CSEBs can reduce the pollution caused by cement production as well as will lessen the construction cost. CSEBs are the blocks constructed by compacting the stabilized soil either manually or with the help of machines. This study represents the systematic review of the compressed blocks of soil with the utilization of different squanders like fly ash, rice husk ash, oil palm fibre, coconut fibre, etc. These bricks can be used in place of fired bricks which are not eco-friendly. In this study, the number of articles considered for the investigation and reviewing is n=31. This systematic review is done according to the PRISMA 2009 guidelines. Various tests such as tensile strength, water absorption, OMC and MDD, wetting and drying cycle have been analysed in this study. The author has discussed various aspects after analysing different articles (n=31).
