A monstruosidade da humilhação: uma etnografia entre mulheres agredidas com agentes químicos

Abstract

A partir de dados etnográficos levantados na Colômbia entre mulheres que tiveram seus corpos agredidos com agentes químicos, procuro argumentar que esse ato marca e amputa especialmente rostos como uma forma de deixar o sujeito atacado vivo, mas sub-humanizado, envergonhado e afastado do convívio social. Pretendo analisar os efeitos iniciais desse ato como desfazimento, isto é, como aquele que acomete e altera as relações e a própria percepção que o sujeito tem de si, como uma humilhação que procura ser perene e se esticar no tempo como uma cicatriz visível, como um instrumento de fazer monstros. Analiso também movimentos coletivos e subjetivos de recusa da humilhação.Based on ethnography in Colombia among women who had their faces assaulted with chemical agents, I try to argue that this act marks and amputates especially faces as a way to leave the attacked subject alive, but sub-humanized, ashamed, and removed from social life. I intend to analyze the initial effects of this act as undoing, that is, as one that affects and alters relationships and the very perception that the subject has of himself/herself, as a humiliation that seeks to be perennial and to stretch through time as a visible scar, as a monster-making tool. I also analyze collective and subjective movements of refusal to be humiliated.
