Abstract

Ar and H2 plasma are used to reduce the platinum precursors supported on the O2 plasma functionalized CNTs. H2 plasma reduced catalysts with well dispersed nanoparticles and fewer impurities between Pt and CNTs shows an improved catalytic activity in the methanol electro-oxidation and an enhanced tolerance to carbonaceous species. © 2012 The Electrochemical Society.
