Abstract

This work analyses the background of syphilis, a disease that is widely represented in La Lozana andaluza. The comparison between this illness and the contemporary medical Literature reveals the sources used by the autor to create his literary work. It also clears many passages of this treatise and provides us with a social, cultural and medical context. © 2013 CSIC.
